Was the boat in the water when they tried? You kinda need this thing called water to run thru the condenser.

I know this may be a little late for most that have AC on their boats, but I am getting 2-3 calls per day now from boaters that are taking their boats out of winter storage...only to find the AC is not working because the pump is leaking water into the bilge. Or the motor is frozen up and wont move. When you get the boat winterized....make sure the person doing the winterizing RUNS the pump to get all the liquid out of the cooling tube (If you happen to have the liquid cooled version) On our pump (The LC-3CP-MD or better know as the PML500) the cooling tube is actually 2' long before it gets bent up and wrapped around the motor and potted in epoxy. If you don't run the motor the antifreeze will not get in the tube and in a hard freeze you can bust the cooling tube inside the motor. And come spring when it gets put back in the water you will either get lucky and have popped the freeze plugs out on the pump housing...or worse case the motor will slowly get flooded with water and will lockup.

A/C on a offshore?? Talk about something I would NEVER use (if I had it).

Had the A/C running ice cold at a night before Poker Run party and lets just say the after party kept going well into the night....
