The weight difference between a 27 and a 29 single is less than 500lbs. My 27 was 4900 dry.

Back to the OP a 27 is probably like others have said around 8 grand with trailer. A half ton can easily get the job done, but will have to be newer.
If interested again I have a 91 29 with twins, 410ish hours engines rebuilt roughly 100-125hours ago, carbs rebuilt last year. New disc brakes on trailer, boat is in great shape, a few minor wear and tear spots, but definitely turn key and for that age out the box new as your going to get. Would definitely be under 30 by quite a bit. I have been pondering the sale of it, IDK. Right price and smooth transaction, i might be in for it. Titles are all clean and clear in my name, smooth quick sale and you come get it I'd probably do 22 with trailer. Throw in all the boat covers, lines, bumpers, and one anchor.

[QUOTE=soldier4402;3992578]Ehh I dont know. Assuming most 29s are twins, one engine and drive alone has to be 500lbs or more. add in an extra exahust system, trim pumps, double everything, two more feet of glass, and two more feet of boat trailer, the out the door difference is probably closer to 1000.

As stated the first time a 29 single not twin is 500lbs heavier. A full dressed bbc weighs in excess of 700 lbs by itself. So a twin is probably 1400lbs heavier than a 27.

for $30k or less this Fall/Winter?
I'm waiting for my new-to-me tow vehicle to ship from Colorado to Georgia and I'll be in the market for a boat in a month or so. I really love the Fountain Fevers, but I'm limiting myself to $30k or less.
Thanks for your input. I don't mind dipping into the 1990's model range if it's a well kept boat that's turn-key.

I don't think most 29's are twins. I believe the majority are singles, although there are plenty out there with twins. Just for ? Sake, wouldn't the single be a much better balanced boat??? Just asking not trying to start a battle. With the right power the 29 single is one fast hull. With a 525 or 500 I believe they are capable of 75-80 real world mph.
