Default How likely am I to find a 29 Fever in decent condition...

for $30k or less this Fall/Winter?

I'm waiting for my new-to-me tow vehicle to ship from Colorado to Georgia and I'll be in the market for a boat in a month or so. I really love the Fountain Fevers, but I'm limiting myself to $30k or less.

Thanks for your input. I don't mind dipping into the 1990's model range if it's a well kept boat that's turn-key.

I found a 1998 29' for 33000 w/454s just under 370 hrs and trailer. But I was shopping for a year. Keep the cash handy and be ready to jump on it. Everyday I watched OSO, Powerboat listings, Craigslist, Boattrader etc. Found mine on ebay 1000 miles from home. Good Luck.

Here is a few... The first one seems to be a good deal, new power, just needs trailer work !
The second on looks better! If your going early 90 models you can probably pick up a 32 in the mid 30's

Might be willing to sell my 32 for $30k or so, would need an interior redo everything is else is in pretty good shape! Interior is very useable just getting pretty wore down.

If your strict on 30k or less I would say your looking at probably a 1996 or older more than likely. Deals do drop out of the sky here and there and just be ready to pounce. Try boattrader, oso, powerboatlistings etc(be careful with this one as the listings dont seem to get removed, some of those fountain have been on there for years, if you look at the description it will say last updated.)

But you might also have to be reasonable with turn key, at 30k you can def get into a fountain and def can get into a nice boat. But being early to mid 90s there might be something thats broke, stained, etc. And more than likely needs something fixed or upgraded. But getting something turn key that runs, in good shape, and for the most part a good boat, can definitely happen. Also fountains arent like sea rays where they are everywhere, some places have concentrations some dont, so you might have to travel or send somebody to pick it up. And since they didnt make fountains for a few years(guess they are now again, but still not making 29's or even 27s I dont think) the used market on them has gotten a little stiffer in the last 2 years or so, values are holding better then they were.

I have a 91 29 with twins, 410ish hours engines rebuilt roughly 100-125hours ago, carbs rebuilt last year. New disc brakes on trailer, boat is in great shape, a few minor wear and tear spots, but definitely turn key. Would definitely be under 30 by quite a bit. I have been pondering the sale of it, IDK. Right price and smooth transaction, i might be in for it. Titles are all clean and clear in my name, smooth quick sale and you come get it I'd probably do 22. Throw in all the boat covers, lines, bumpers, and one anchor.

There is a good 2001 29 project boat out there with damage to the bottom and de-rigged if you are looking for something like that sitting on a trailer.

I think your budget will limit you. It will depend on age and condition. But I think there are alot of good deals to be had at the 30k price range. 29 fountain is a good boat. Id personally prefer a stepped hull if I were looking.

You should be able to find a 29 for that price especially during the off season. It will probably be an early 90s model. I found a 1 owner boat that was stored indoors all its' life by a meticulous older gentlemen. If you can find any power boat associations in your area, might be worth going to a meeting and asking around. A lot of times boats are being repaired to be sold and you can get first shot at them. That's basically how I got mine.

I didn't quite realize how heavy these boats are on a trailer and full of fuel. My tow vehicle is only rated at 7800lbs so now im second guessing my boat choice. I winder what a 27 weighs?
