Mike
I have a Straight bottom side by side setup . It has the 525sc setup basically 454's with b&m 250's. I'm running deep with TRS drives. having trouble spinning the 26's past 4700rpm. I'm seing 68 GPS. I'll be working on props after the sarasota run. I personally like the non step for our boating down here its a smooth ride.. I really like is the cockpit room I have with this setup. Don't get me wrong stags are badasz but will eat up cockpit area especially fountains. It's a hard decision to make when buying one. I don't think 80 is out of reach. I would guess 600ish hp. Drives will make a difference If you would like to get out sometime to get an idea on how they ride just pm your number we can chat.. |
Back4more is a sweet boat wonder why he is selling he just bought it. Anyone have the link?
Mike it would be worth looking at and it's not to far away. It's in Louisiana I believe I think It's got mitcher paint also Did you see the 42 in MI with 502mpi b1 setup. Not sure if it is still on CL but I got the guys number. Had a buddy check it out had AC |

Thanks oneanddone. Ill buy the gas beer and skanks!! Lol. When the time is right if the price is right I wouldn't be opposed to a side by side big step. Or any step. It's all what's available at what price when I'm ready. Gotta pay the b*tch first.

Your boat is great looking. Love it. Seems like you should be going a bit faster with it though. I noticed in the pics your upper blower pulley looks a little large. How much boost are you making with it? I had 454's with 177 blowers, dart heads, roller cams, 5lbs of boost, in a 402 Formula SR1. Boat would do 70mph. Spun 25p 4 blades to 5500, and 26p 5 blades to around 5100. The Fountain is a much faster hull than that 40 Formula. I would have thought your boat would be doing low to mid 70s no problem.

I have the smaller 3# pulleys on. I had the 5.5 on the 29 and loved it. I'm going to wait till I build them fresh and put more boost to them. I do want to try some 25's can't seem to push past the 4700 mark and any drive trim over 3 I loose speed. I'm running B1 4 blade 26's now

props turning in or out? Figured it was low boost with that pulley.

OneNd done is the boat I was thinking of. I love the look of that thing clean.
As for the speed I thought the other owner was getting more out of it, didn't you add AC? Where is the water pickup for it? |
