NO I will not I want me boat back in the water so bad I can taste it now. I pushing the 8th month now and still I haven't even heard them run yet. I honestly have spend enough money for a set of whipple motors and here we set talking about these old fuel systems making a huge difference in what I have paid for. Am I happy about all of this of coarse not. I just want it over. I go threw the classifieds all the time and I see motors with a whole bunch more power then mine for half the money. I wish I had just went with new crate motors from Mercury. I might have but the sales rep was too busy trying to sell me a set of 383s.In stead of what I wanted. I thought this guy is out of his freaking mind. The rest is history.
You get what you pay for. I paid $20,000 for a 2 year old 525 with 30 hours. I could have bought a whole lot more power for 20 big ones but I wanted the durability, reliability and proven package of the 525. I hope you are on the water soon.

Doesn't take a lot to spend a barrel in this game. Just wish I knew a little more about what I wanted. But next time I will know exactly what I want being that I have done this once. I haven't had a lesson yet that I didn't pay good hard earned money on. But I'm sure I'll have my moneys worth this time too. I have nothing left used except the fuel systems we have been jabbering about for a few days now and it sounds like that will be a easy fix too. Ron says power wise I'm just inside of what my bravo's will stand if I don't go jamming on them and treat them like a lady. LOL

On a positive note and moving right along. I was at Potter's shop today and my manifold are on and measurements have been taken for the tail pipes so now we wait for those to come in. Looks like they were putting in my new gauges this afternoon. Ron stopped by my shop to measure my hatch cover for clearance of the risers. Here is a question for the rest of you Fever guys. My exhaust holes were cut right up under my swim platform. In other words the platform from under the bottom cuts up for about a foot then drops down and flattens out. The exhaust holes were cut in that dip of the platform and the exhaust was actually burning my platform from the dip on out. Any one else confirm there's is like this two?? This is a little bit of a problem for the new tails. Ron is says he is trying to get the tails to be angled down wards from the risers out. this way the exhaust will blow down past the dip in the platform. Its a good thing I don't want mufflers on mine cause they wouldn't fit because of the dip. Ron thinks the holes were cut to high in the transom. Guys jump in and let me know how yours are in this area please!!!!!!!!!! I wish I had the plugs for these holes. I would plug them re glass and recut them lower by about three inches. Maybe this had to be this way for the stock Mercury manifolds. Let me know your thought's please.

Yea I kinda screwed that up. I thought fuel injected with 500HP was a 500 EFI. That's how all this got started. I got an education in this area now so we wont make this mistake again.

Let me look at my DYNO sheet 1st so I'm correct about what I'm about to say. This thread as taken so long I don't even remember the beginning of it now. LOL. Yes 532.9 HP with bad fuel regulator. 619.9 FT LBS of torque. The other is 529.9 HP I believe also with a bad fuel regulator.

Me comprendo.

What you should have said was he was going to build you 500HP engines using the MPI intake and fuel injection system.

Again, big HP differences/limitations between the 415MPI/500EFI/ and just to throw it in their, 525EFI intake set-ups.

All figured out now.

I did not read whole thread, but if for some reason the thread is this long cause you don't know why it didn't make more power it's because you had him build you 500HP motors and thus why the MPI intakes where kept.

If you understood what hp he was building you, as it seems you did by saying he was building you 500hp EFI engines, then all is well and enjoy your new motors.
CORRECT !!!!!! You hit it right on the head. Thank You for clearing this up. Some saw what was in them and how they were put together and assumed something was bad wrong and this had to be adjusted and changed and all the other things you see here. When really all is well. I didn't like the old fuel systems during the build and ask about changing them over to the new style 500s. This wasn't because I knew any of this. More so I didn't like the look of the old system then anything. Ron firmly told me if I wanted to take my motors out under the tree and build them he would put used parts on them. Other than that it wasn't happening on anything used. Now that we have cleared this up. I'm going to try and finish this thread I have started right to the end. Just because Wildman and Jake and a few others have been following this from Jump street. End of subject.

Thank You for this. I couldn't agree more. I'm as nervous as a **** house rat about all of this. Most of all I want me boat back so bad I would almost put a electric trolling motor on it or maybe twins so we keep the twins going. Just to be back in my boat again.

I have friends that tune and props test all summer. They can squeeze out a few more mph than me but we mostly ride together?
Thank You

My guess is the proof is in the pudding. Ron told me right out of the gate that Horse Power isn't **** and has nothing to do with it in a vee bottom boat. My guess is TORQUE is the secret to all those motors in the same boat.
