Me too. Another Fountain guy. Hope he doesn't get pissed because I cant remember his name. But his Fountain I believe is a 35 Lightning and runs in the 100s. Anyhow he was giving me feed back on what prop size he thought and he threw out what size and he was thinking right at 90mph on that set up. Hope he is close. Both on the prop size and the speed. Ron still has those Herring 30s setting at the shop for me to try.

You sound exactly like me. I grew up fishing bayous and inshore with my Dad since age 6 with 7.5 hp hand carried outboard motor and 6 gal tank and renting 18' aluminum boats. Those were some wonderful memories. We didn't have much money. When I saw a boat with this enormous 100hp outboard and a steering wheel I was awestruck and said one day I'll have one of those.

Have fun with it. You've got Ron Potter motors. I don't think many Cadillac builders in his league would fool with used parts either. Maybe he felt out your budget after talking to you is why he stayed with the stock induction. I'm pretty sure he'll dish out any thing a fat checkbook can dream up.

Sounds really close yes. The first performance boat I ever took notice of was 24' Baja. It was black and red and had to be early 80s. It was a single motor set up. The guy who had it was one of the suppliers of equipment we used to build our fishing rigs every year. So he was pretty well off compared to the rest of us any how. But he bought that Baja brand new. I heard that thing run wide open once and I thought goly day I got to have one of those. Couple of months later the guy got drunk and ran that Baja up in the marsh about a quarter of a mile. Threw all the people out all over the place. Most all of them had something broken. Arm leg jaw. But they all lived to party another day. LOL

Man you said a mouth full there. I sold a Fountain Sport Fish to get my 32 Fever. The 32 needed some TLC done to her when I bought it. I remember walking around her just before I wrote the check saying to myself everything that I could see that needed to be fixed or replaced or sanded and buffed. The motors I was pretty sure would need replacing at some point. I had just told me wife we need to pace the manifolds before we end up with a motor full of water. She said ah lets just finish the summer and then go for it. Well we didn't make it that far. So now that we have the motors behind us. I have a windshield to put on and I'm going to have it painted all over this winter and I will have done everything the way I want them. Then my old man would say and now you know what you got. Short of the long I'm looing for another Fountain center console boat as we speak so I'm a hard core fountain man to the bone my self.

Well guys here were are end of week two of new manifolds on still waiting on tail pipes. I stopped over today to get the halon fire exstinguisher out of the engine compartment. Im told tail pipes should be in next week. Ron is going to redrill the wholes bigger and angle tips down wards so the tail pipes will clear the swim platform this time. This was a hell of a way to cut the whole in the first place by Fountain. Anyone else confirm that there 32 is the same as mine as far as the tip being up under the cut out of the swim platform?? Let me know Im wondering if mine was the only one like this. Anyhow after angling the tips down and cutting the holes a little bigger to help with the angle. Stainless Marine is going to make me 8 custom beauty rings to cover the holes. Four inside and four outside.Ill check in again next week.
