Default 32' Fountain cabin gutting

Thinking about tearing everything out and making cabin all a big pad for bed? Easy undertaking? Anyone ever done this?

Not hard, everything is just screwed in. Would take less than a hour with a battery operated drill. Three beers max....

I would however make it easy to put back for resale purposes.

It might not hurt resale value. It'll be faster and still have a place to overnight once in awhile. My little Donzi had the opposite problem as the Classic comes closed off with just a little storage bin up front. I opened it up and had a carpet made for it for storage and I have a foam pad and bag of blankets and pillows for an occasional overnighter. Without the carpet I ended up lighter than stock. With carpet about 15 pounds over. I say go for it.

Not sure how much weight is up there on Fountains but I remember just reading in the Cig section about someone who did this to a Top Gun and the front sat 8-10" higher now due to the less weight. I know the 32's sit very low in the back already so something to consider.

Build techniques for a cig and a fountain are very different. Wouldn't expect to lose that much weight

my thought exactly,

5/8 plywood, foam, vinyl ,and staples I would think weight pretty much the same no matter who build the boat.

It's a 99' Fever so it has the fridge, sink, cabinet, ect...I don't use any of it so it just takes up room. Also, we tend to sleep in it every time we're out which sucks because the lack of room up front in the bed area. I just feel like having a pad running from front to back would be very spacious. I don't want to kill resale value but hopefully the 500HP EFI's would make up for it. Does anyone have any pics of someone doing this?

It's not the foam and vinyl I mean. It's the cabin structure that's glassed in, and very sturdy, heavy. The cig guy didn't raise the now of his boat 8" by pulling the cushions. He cut the structure out.
