This is obviously why I came to you guys with much more knowledge then me.

How long will it take before that 496ho needs to be rebuilt?
its a fair asking price..give or take 1-2k...nice boats sell everyday near asking price if they are nice...

496HO is a good engine ( like anything else,if you leave it alone) and I dont think you have to worry about a rebuild for a long time,if you maintain it right I would say over 1000 hours,,,had plenty of 496HO boats,,never a issue
boatnt is online now

For something to compare it to, heres a couple that are newer with the same engine and asking price.

They both look clean as well, but that first one looks like the dash is faded big time. Not sure If that could be compounded out, or needs to be replaced.

Stop by there with a stack of $100 bills about $34,000 high and see if he takes it!

If someone has a boat listed for something like 40k...how often are you going to get them to come down 7k+?

I guess I better keep looking.

It needs more power. I think that it will be a slug that you will soon get bored with. Go back to looking at Baja's with serious power or find a Fountain with at least a 525. JMO. Maybe you are OK with running low 60s.

Might be worth a look, but usually if no interior pics the condition isn't too good...

if you want a low maintenance package that's right for you. I think $35k-$37k is a good price. Slower to plan with a 496 but with the correct prop it will hit 70. 27' is a good size to trailer.
