It sounds crazy but im kinda going through the same mind blow myself. I had the boat for three years. After first season it went in and had one full rebuild and the other had complet top end. Thay did the brake in oil. Then 15 hours they did the oil again. They also did gear lube every time. That brings me to now I am looking to run royal purple gear lube. But am undecided on the oil I am going to use. I have the 500efi's I was thinking of going with the VR1 20w50

I run Amsoil 10W40 marine oil in my 496 mag HO motors..

Whatever Marine Oil you run with..........you should be using Lucas Oil Stabilizer

I run Amsoil in everything I own, my biggest concern is weight. I bought the boat in the fall and the previous owner was running Valvoline racing 50 weight and that's seems to heavy to me.
