The B3s does indeed spin for counter rotation (one prop clockwise, one counter clockwise.)
Even a singe engine boat with contra rotating props will track straight, no prop steering at all.

Something I've noticed is with a notched transom, the engine in reverse pushes the water forward and it hits the back end of the notch. The water pushing against the notch and effectively pushing the boat forward does negate to some extent, the reverse thrust of that engine. Tilting the drives up a little will force the waterflow downward slightly and below the transom notch, will help a bit.
I know, outboards on a cc is a completely different boat but the basic principles are the same.
Props are designed for maximum efficiency in forward gear so you'll always need a few more revs on the reverse engine. Turning your steering in the direction of the turn also helps.
