I heard the issue there was that Reggie got over on mercury in a big way and they want nothing to do with him...so thats a big deal with your main source of power not there...not sure on the total story...

Even without Reggie Fountain company could survive it take a huge amount of $$$!prices have to come in line comp all the parts that may happen?Spoke to new owner at SBI event there is not 1 boat under $200K

I live a few miles down the Pamlico River from the Fountain Factory. Reggie's son Watt sold me my 38EC a few years ago. Years ago I used to see (and of course hear) Lighting's and Fever's rocketing along the Pamlico River fairly regularly, Reggie setting speed records, etc. It's sad not to see that anymore. Hopefully these lower fuel prices will allow the boating industry to start recovering. I'd also like to see the factory build a few new Fountains and start advertising them at boat shows again. I think if the factory could prove they can meet or exceed Reggie's building standards and add some modern goodies, who knows things just might start happening again.

As for Reggie getting involved with the factory again, I'd like to see it happen but I doubt it will. I saw on the internet Reggie's home on the Pamlico River came up for sale last year. Not sure if it sold or not.
