They rock back and forth. Rubber bumpers underneath the saddle keep the metal saddles from contacting your drives.

I don't know about the executioner, but the earlier lightnings are pretty thin back there. Send me a link and I will show you what I did. I made my own out of a garage sale ladder from a pontoon. It is not permanenet, but it works.
