Happy to help. Unfortunately you will all have to carry the torch on future testing. Have moved into a staggered 42 with 6s. I figured these pics may help folks with the above on angle of attack and the differences shorty's made on a 35 straight bottom.
3 Blade 5.865" Under- Sits back and runs entirely different. Tail wet.

4 Blade 3.865" Under boat ran entirely different, much flatter and got the back up with the 4 blades spinning in and ran on the variable pad and notch much less wet.

I just picked up my Sportmaster -2 shorties. Plan is to test tomorrow with 32 Bravo 4 blades. 700hp per side.
Congrats on the 42. Let's see it!

Yes I was shooting for some where around 11.5 under load at wide open throttle . I was chasing a problem where the faster I went the richer it got. I determined when testing the louvers I was going in a good direction when I only put the starboard side on and that engine leaned up. When I put both louvers on and cut the fiberglass behind them , my AFR numbers went up 2 points but that was also after I had taken a lot of jet out of the carbs trying to correct the rich condition ,

I am kind of bummed I didn't get to finally put those motors into the 35. They ended up making 1004 hp and 1043 lb ft of torque with a wall of 1000+ torque from 3000 rpms to 4700. I think it would have done some things, and eaten some drives!

Ya Jay that would've of been one of the fastest straight bottom 35's out there! But sadly none of us non stepped fountain guys will never get to find out! LOL. I'm going to say 115 mph+ Have you sold the 35 yet or any of its parts?
If you have not pulled anything apart yet pull the engines and drop the 580's in it.
