Does anyone have an accurate weight for these older flat bottom 35 lightnings? When I put my (1989 35 lightning, Bravo 1, 454MAGS ) speed and HP numbers into the BAM SPEED CALCULATOR , its giving me a weight of about 8000 LBS.....does that seem about right? The boat runs 68 MPH bone stock....I have a pr of 496(625HP) going in the boat, and the calculator is saying 85-87 MPH.....so Im curious how accurate this is.

I think the 8000lb is close as a dry number , the speed calculator is only as good as the info you put in like the slip numbers

ICU on here ran his 95 step hull across the scales and I think it came in around 8600-8800. That was with bravos.

Remember these 33-35 fountains are fly weight 30 foot boats.

approx. 8,000# dry, then add 160 gal. gas, 2 riders, 2 anchors, toolbox, 2 coolers, 50# of misc. stuff you never use and old flat bottom 35's get heavy, but still run very well.

How many rpms are you turning to get 110mph out of 28p props?

If it was a real boat it would have to turn between 6500 and 7300 rpm depending on the gears and slip numbers

Even with a gear change 110 is a tall order for those props!
