I have often wondered about how to make a strong but lightweight engine hatch. One you could walk or lay on. Factory hatches or ridiculously heavy. Seems like an opportunity to save weight where it matters, the stern.

New interior cured that problem a lot lighter now but a guess 400 - 500lbs dry?

I know on my 32 it is very heavy, takes 3 to put in on. I have done it with two but not fun.
And its dry, I had mine apart and it was still heavy, 3/4" ply that is glassed over, and mine even has the fiberglass cutouts that raise the height over the motors. Then again I thought mine was heavy until I help a buddy with his 35 Cafe hatch! |
