Is it normal for the rear hatch to be extremely heavy? I’m curious as I tried lifting it without the actuator connected, felt super heavy

most often its the foam thats waterlogged

It might, but I would store it with the hatches open to allow the water to run out. You will know in a day or so, if it water logged,

Wet or dry lol:evilb:My guess 500 pounds leave it open inside it will dry !They get more heavy when left outside without protection

i have found it will not dry unless you remove the foam and replace or let it air dry

I figured it should be pretty light, save some overall weight but when I tried lifting!! I was very surprised how ridiculously heavy it was lol

Fiberglass alone is really heavy!

I have often wondered about how to make a strong but lightweight engine hatch. One you could walk or lay on. Factory hatches or ridiculously heavy. Seems like an opportunity to save weight where it matters, the stern.
