The Fountain will probably be a bit faster if it is a late model stepped hull 29. Otherwise I wouldn't say your are going to notice a big difference in ride and performance going from one twin 29 to another. The single engine 29 is a bit more desirable IMHO and probably slightly better balanced. The 29 Fever will be smaller in the cockpit and cabin compared to the 292. With stock 6.2's it is a 70mph top end and fairly quick to plane.

Both nice boats, not much difference between the two. As said above, the only real gain is probably a few mph and a different look. What are you hoping for?

I like a twin motor boat over a single for SOS reasons. The single engine land softer but a lot slower also twin engine Fountain a lot faster then twin engine Formula But you will get beat up more in the rough with Fountain ! The

Formula a little better in the rough my 02

Oh here we go with this crap. Being a Fountain owner for close to two decades I would explane the difference between a Fountain and a Formula, size to size, as follows........................................... ..Want to puzzy foot thru the chit feeling all safe and secure, Go Formula!

Want to attack the chit and come out on top of it, test your abilities at the wheel, Go FOUNTAIN!!!!!

I've always had more fun pushing myself to be better than I was the last time. Guess there might be a little Reggie in me, I'm just fine with that.

Late model 29 Fountain with either a single 500efi or 525 is the way to go. I see gps 76mph in a 2001 with a 500efi. The twins will give you around 70 because of the weight. Resale on a single is more as well.

Saw a 32 fountain with twin 6.2 for sale. Might as well add a few extra feet. I bet they run the same speed.

What prop are you running on that to hit 76? I have a 2003 with a 525 efi and was only able to get 68 out of it at the shootout. (It was hot outside and very humid, which I am sure played a role, but wouldnt think 8mph difference) I was turning 5200 RPM.

Sorry to hijack OP.
