upholstery HELP!
#1
I brought my rear deck lid down to the local upholstery guy, he said he would do a perfect job, as good as factory, and I wouldn't be able to tell the difference. I got it back and it looked like hammered S#%t. Worse is, he cut up the old skins to make the patterns and through them away. I called Fountain, they said they no longer have the patterns for a 1992 27 fever. Does anyone know of someone that can help me out? I have the boards and the foam.

Why would the '92 be any different than the newer yrs with same pattern. Big "U" shape, right? Sure they didn't think you were talking about material itself from '92?
Is the "new" work at least close that it could be used as a pattern?

I gave him a 400.00 deposit and was supposed to pay the balance upon completion. When I went there to pick it up nothing fit and the seams were not even close to being straight. I guess I should of went with my gut when he told me he didn't need the deck lid to match the upolstery to.

Jim-
Check with Grand Prix Marine. I needed a rear seat skin for a 93 27 fountain. It was plain white so they didn't need my VIN to match any colors but said that they could match any boat given the VIN. I did the swap of the skins myself, just a staple gun with the expensive stainless staples and it looks perfect. good luck.
