Hi all

I am looking into getting a 23 fountain Center Console

I was wondering if anyone has any experience with one of these boats.

How does it handle rough water, and how fast is it with the 225, or would it be better to step up to a 250HP optimax.

I love Fountains as much as anyone, however if you are looking for a performance center console go with the Concept 22 or 25, and of the two the 25 is AWSOME.

I looked at their web page and all they list is 23 and 27 feet. The 27 looks awesome, but the 23 doesn't look like it has much freeboard.

I like some of the features in the 23, but I think it needs some more freeboard. Also at 2600 lbs with a 225 optimax, the Fountain is 3700 lbs. So in rough water I am afraid the concept might really get thrown around.

I have been doing a little surfing on boats on the net, and have come across a few 25 foot Fountain Center consoles. They must have made them up till at least 2000 as there is a 2000 25 footer on boat trader.com

Anyone know if the 25 and the 23 are the same basic boat?? Maybee Fountain just renamed the boat at some point.

If the 25 is a bigger boat, maybee it would be a better choice.

the 25 has now become the 23.it's definatly not 19'.if you want to fish or go in rougher water i'd go with the fountain. i have a 22' concept, if you want a cool cruiser for all around it's great. the 23' fountain is rated for 250h.p.ironic though, fountain's 25 becomes thier 23 and concepts 22 becomes a 23.fountain is a 98'' beam,concept's a 90''.everyone i've seen usually has a 250 efi. i'd stay away from the 250 opti just because of the fuel req. (92 or 93 octane min.)they run about 50 -52 mph.
