|
what happend to everybody. hopefully your fireing up the machines.
|
Greg,
I was thinking the same thing...just unwrapped mine yesterday and started my cleanup routine. I bought the Frenzy wax kit and will try and get started today, weather permitting. Won't be long now! BTW, it's been awhile since we heard from Carney and the Finger Lakes boys...you guys still out there?? Gary |
Gary,
Where did you get your Frenzy wax kit from? Yes to Greg, working on the boat. It's in the driveway and the little lady wants it moved.... :( |
Whats up guys...I have been following this thread for a while now even though I will not be able to attend the run:( . I hope you guys don't mind me suggesting another run in this thread...What I am suggesting is a simple run to the NYC POKER RUN together. We can meet eachother at each inlet starting with you guys out east...then stop at each inlet accordingly heading to the city. We can hang out for a bit at Liberty Landing and then go some where for lunch... or just stay there. Who is up for something like this? We can even meet up with you north shore guys in the city...anyone game?
|
Steve, I ordered the Frenzy kit online...here's the address:
http://hammerheadboatworks.com/index.html JohnnyD: I would be game and I am sure others in our group would be up for it too...as they say "post it and they will come". I think a couple of guys on the thread are considering entering the NYCPR and traveling in on the southern route the day before the run...could all tie together. Hope they have better weather for the run than last year! GF |
im towing to the nycpr on friday.
|
If anyone else is interested in going on Saturday morning send me a PM...GF I will PM you about it in a few weeks...hopefully the weather forcast will be good for a change and we can head out in the morning...
FastFountain I hope to see you there...I don't plan on entering the run this year...just going to see the machinery and hang out. |
Hey JohhnyD,how you doin??? It better be nice    cause im planning on goin to do the NYCPR Tripps
|
Hey Tripps...I'm doing pretty good...How about you? If you are heading to NYC on Saturday morning let me know...if not we have to meet up at Liberty Landing.

Hello All,
I'm looking to make Reservations at one of the two Hotels mentioned previously for the run on the 15th. I'll be towing from NW NJ on Friday, staying overnight and launching Saturday morning for the run, then back on the trailer, staying overnight again on Saturday then back home on Sunday. Did anyone block out any rooms or work any deals with the Hotels? In any case which is the best Hotel for me to choose? Thanks, Pat Brennan [email protected] |
pat check out page 7 post #184.
looking foward to meeting you. |
Thanks Fast Fountain,
I made Reservations at the Holiday Inn. The rate they gave me was $139 per night since I didn't have any name to drop for the discount. If anyone knows a way to get this discounted I'd appreciate it. Thanks, Pat Brennan |
Im glad to see this is getting big!!! Pat,let me know if you need directions,i know all roads on LI Tripps
|
Hey Pat,
I get a rate of $109.00 per night at the Holiday Inn, if you like I will make a reservation for you...let me know. Gary |
Gary,
If I could save $30 per night that would be great. I need 1 room with 2 couble beds for 2 nights, arriving Friday and departing Sunday. 2 Adults and 2 kids (aged 5 and 3) non-smoking. If you could make the reservations I'd cancel mine. You can reach me either at work 973-496-7363 or at home 973-663-3199 or via email at [email protected]. Thanks, Pat |
I definitely need directions, for a trailer rig to the Holiday Inn. I'm a Jersey boy and am not too familiar with "the Island". I'd be coming across the GWB.
Thanks, Pat |
Pat,
OK, I managed to get you a room with two double beds, non-smoking (I can change that to smoking if you prefer) at a rate of $99.00/nite at the Long Island Mac Arthur airport Holiday Inn. Only catch is it will be under my name until you check in, you should then change the name and credit card. It is now under my card and can be canceled anytime before 6PM day of arrival (5/14/04). I will forward the confirmation to you via e-mail, any questions give me a call at: 631-793-8507. Best and only practical way to get to the Holiday Inn from the GWB follows: When you exit the GWB stay on 95 E. which is actually the Cross Bronx Expressway. Follow the signs to the Throgs Neck Bridge to Queens, after crossing the bridge continue straight ahead (you will be on the Clearview Expressway) until you see signs for the Long Island Expressway East, take that exit and continue eastbound on the L.I.E. until you see exit 57 (Veteran's Memorial Hwy.) Exit right and at the traffic light make a right turn. Continue on Vet's Hwy (Southeast if you have a compass) for approximately 5 miles. You will see the Holiday in on the left but will need to make a u-turn to get back to the entrance (Vet's Hwy is divided). Plan to park your rig in the back of the lot, there should be plenty of room. I will try and send some pix of the parking lot when I have time. See you then! Gary |
Gary,
Thanks a lot for your help, and for saving me $60. Pat |
team work i love it!!!!:D :D
|
That's what it's all about...the thread should become very active in the next couple of weeks...only four weekends to go!
G- |
Finished the detailing of my 29 Fever and got to splash her this past Sunday. It was a perfect day on the north shore of LI with a light wind out of the southwest. Only drawback was the dead calm water. Shakedown run was a bit dissapointing, came up with a captain's call exhaust problem and a strange noise from the port drive...could be a gimbal bearing or internal gear issue. Final problem was a zero gain from my freshly labbed props...exact same performance as last season 71mph and 5300rpm! I am speaking with Houston prop about getting that sorted out. Boat is now at the new Fountain dealer here on the Island - Marinas Cove in Hampton Bays. I had the pleasure of dealing with Vinnie, the maintenance supervisor, and left with a very positive feeling. He has quite a bit of experience with performance boats and has been very accomodating. He took the boat in right away and had several suggestions with regard to my problems and performance enhancements. He, Vinnie, also expressed interest in joining the run. He should post here shortly.
Just an update for everyone, hope you all are having better luck than I! Please post your first season run info. We need to get the thread active again. Need to have some ideas on pacing, etc. I would like to see us remain as a group with regard to speed, etc. I am sure that some of the 100+ boats would like to "exercise" their rigs to the max, conditions permitting, but it would be nice if they fell back and waited for the slower boats (like mine!) so we can travel as a group and meet up at the same time. Let me know your thoughts. Gary- |
im going to have a flag for the start. we can decide who will drop it once under way.i think that we should run together for 3/4 of the way. this way we woulnt have a cluster **** a the dock for lunch. just a thought.:D :D :D
went out sunday as well. all is aok next outing will be may 15th. |
Flag sounds like a good plan, we can finalize things at the driver's meeting on the 14th.
Steve, where are u??? |
I am alive and well. Spent the last two weeks mounting GPS, oar, fire extinguishers, battery charger, labbed prop, synthetic outdrive oil etc. I had to fit this in between the rest of life but managed to spash it Monday (oh yes, took the day off). Found out the GPS speedo on the boat is broke and the passenger seat doesn't go up and down. Freaked out that I only could go 68 into the wind, then discovered my newly mounted GPS was set to Knots. Cleaned underwear and had a beer.
I am back, let's get this thing movin!!!! |
I think we need a final count of boats, but if the number is in the 30's I think we should leave in groups......
Steve |
Steve, if you have time please give me a call at home: 631-751-0350.
|

Gary,
Here is the position of the GPS. I think it worked out well... |
start you engines.
|
Steve:
Yes it is a very clean installation, I think I will follow suit and post a pic when completed. Just returned from Anchorage, AK (where there is not one single Fountain dealer!) and will be leaving for Marco Island this Sunday for a week of R&R with Mommy. Plan to rent a Heritage Softail and cruise a few Fountain dealers, lay around the beach, etc. Will return next Sat. and finish up detailing the boat. It is still at the dealer getting the work done on the drive, etc. Hope it will be done by next week. Hope to see alot more action on the thread, only two more weeks, common guys! Regards to all. G- |
Kelly (wife) has a cousin who owns the Boat House motel on Marco. I understand it's beautiful there. Good luck and a nice choice for a ride.

|
I am alive and well. I am still resolving a few small points on the boat (GPS speedo crapped out) but plan to do a Mother's Day test run (anyone interested ?). Then out of the water it comes, oil will be changed (synthetic goes back in), name added to side of the boat (Seduced) and detail. Back into the water by Friday and ready for the 15th.
We should definetly all start to check in here so that we know how many people will be at the Sonoma Grill. Greg, don;t forget to reserve the grill! |
