Question Raddle in the swim platform??

A New raddle appeared in the swim platform does any one know how to fix it. I thought it was the engine hatch and i replaced the hinges but that did not do it. Please help.

I have seen this happen on a Baja, the solution is

1. Remove ladder, what my friend did

2. Or wedge a small towel in there to hold everything tight

What size boat?
Silent choice?
Weather stripping for engine hatch seal missing or out of location? > engine hatch rubbing against engine
compartment opening drain ledge.

Good question

I had a very annoying rattle at low rpm's. Found out it was the integral exhaust flappers for the silent choice thru the props had worn out the bushing and were just a rattling away.

Hope that might help

US1 I have a 32 with silent choice along with stripping, and 4 play dave the raddle occurs only at idle. I sounds like maybe the platform is raddling where the top and bottom of the boat is attached. Thanks for the help guys

Exhaust flappers!!!!

Drove me nuts, thought I had a serious problem.

If you can get to them, wedge something in there to hold them open, fire it up, and see if rattle is gone.

worked for me!!!

rchevelle Thanks alot that sounds right. I can not wait to try it when it gets a little warmer. Does that mean new flaps are necessary.
