Default Replace steering wheel help??

I have a 2001 27 Fever any way I was given the purple MOMO Spargi steering wheel for my B day, but I can't get it on. I took off the white dunebuggy wheel and the steel hub is in the way and I can't figure out how to remove it? does anyone have any idea.

Thanks for any input

WILL

The steel hub? When you removed the buggy wheel, did you remove 6 screws and remove just the wheel or did you remove the center cap and remove the nut in the center?

Sometimes when you remove the center nut, the wheel may be stuck. To free it up, you can pull up on the wheel and tap on the end of the shaft. You can use a hammer but do not beat on the shaft. Moderate tapping will work. The key is to pull up on the wheel.

Pachangalpina

I took off the three screws and the center nut, that is all their is on mine. Then it looked like the steel Hub/mountain piece was just stuck?? I couldn't find anything holding it but it wasn't coming off? I will try a gradual tapping later this week. Thanks

Put your wheel back on, screw the large center nut back on the spindle until it is still about 1 thread above the stub. While slight pulling evenly on the wheel, smack the large nut centered with a hammer. If you don't use the nut or if you screw it down below the threads, you will mess up the threads when hit with hammer. You don't want that. Also don't want to hit the nut off center if you can keep from it.
The spindle is just a tapered shaft with a keyway.
