Default 35 Lightning ?'s

I am currently looking at a 2003 35 Lightning with 525's and xr drives, 50hr's fresh water use. I would like to hear from some Lightning owners as to ride and speed with this package. Is there more room in the cockpit than an executioner? I find myself a little cramped at the helm of the X and heard the lighning is 6 inches higher and has more room for the driver. I would appreciate any info you guys could give me.....Thanks, Ricky

Tricky919,
I owned a single step 35 ('96) and have looked at the new 35's several times. I'm 6'4" and found the front bolster leg room lacking on my 96. The new 35's I've checked out have a lot more leg room under the dash and the bolster seems to be set back a little further. I was told by the salesman the new 35' are deeper then the old single steps which I would agree with. I don't think there is much difference between the executioners and the new twin steps in total cockpit space. I ran 82-84 in single step with 500 carb's. Performance report I saw on new twin step with 525's was WOT at 92 mph. Current quote I have on new 35 twin step with 525's is $218 with trailer. I understand Fountain just raised their new boat prices 8-10. Used boats with 525 are hard to fine. Good luck. What kind of price are they wanting for the 03?
