just wondered if the arch is removable on a 42 fountain from the early 90s. i thought i have read where someone has removed theirs. if that is so, what do you use to fill the holes where it mounted? don't really care for them & if you can take them off it would open up the search for a boat some more. thanks.

I removed the arch from my '38 Fever and if I remember correctly, it had 5 to 6 nuts on either side. There are studs attached to the arch that go through the hull and some of mine were accessed through the engine compatrment and the others were reached from the storage on the side in front of the rear seat. The arch was installed over a non skid area of fiberglass. As a temp. fix, I bought some white nylon plugs from Lowes (also avail from HomeDepot, generally in the drawers in the hardware section). These work well but I do intend to fix it more permanently this off season.
Good luck

once arch removed take a dowel rod in appropriate size and coat with resin and tap into the hole, you may have to drill hole to match available dowel rod, that will fill hole then glass over the hole and dowel rod , sand fiberglass, regel coat, sand and buff, good to go. relative easy repair.
