Default Mufflers under water

When I added clamp on mufflers to the tail pipes, the center line of the exhaust is under water. The set up unbelievably quite. I'm just wondering if mufflers in the water could result in water getting into the engine. The mufflers have flappers built in. Would appreciate your thoughts.
