Wet Sump 6's
I'm considering converting from Bravo/Imco to Merc. #6. I've heard that 6's are a great dependable drive. Will the wet sump 6 cause the boat to loose speed over Extreme Imco's? If so, how much would you estimate.

Re: Wet Sump 6's
I was told you would lose about 5 due to the much larger mass.
But you can turn it into a dry sump down the road and get a few back.
You can also have Herring redo the skeg and get a few there also.
Drysumping it will run you 5g's plus depending who you have do it.
And I can't remeber the quote for milling the skeg and welding the additional
piece on the back of the skeg.
If you go that route I would do both at the same time, because they have to tear
it down and re-set everything anyway's for either enhancement. Save you
some coin doing both changes together.
