when master switch is turned on to both, alts smoke. when turned to 1, its ok. batters are new .Also, where are the oil temp sending units located on hp 502? 1996 42 Lightning

The sender should be on the oil filter housing. Good luck with the battery switch, not sure what that problem is but make sure all of your grounds are good.
