Trim Rams On Fountain 35
#1
Does Fountain Put A Shorter Trim Ram On On Twin Setups To Avoid Hitting The Swim Platform And Having External Steering?
The Reason I Ask Is That When The Drives Are Tilted All The Way Up To Where The Pump Bottoms Out The Drives Still Look Somewhat Down. It Does Not Stop Due To A Limit Switch, It Just Runs Out Of Ram!
I Think I Have Seen 2 Different Size Rams In The Past.
Anyone Elce Seen This?

No different lenghts, Still gotta go from gimble to the drive. That is a set measurement. But possibly you have spacers installed inside the rams to limit the extended length. Heard of that being done before, just not familiar if done on Fountains. My 32 'appears' to have the full travel

I Found A Part # 15768a3 On The Mercury Parts Look-up Called A Tilt Limit Kit But It Does Not Have A Picture Or Any Other Information. I Will Look In The Service Manual Tonight And Post What I Find. If I Don't Find Anything I'm Going To Take One Apart And Look Inside. I'm Afraid That It Is Going To Drag While Trailering.

When a bravo 1 is converted to an xr setup I was told to install these limit spacers by Max Machine. Because of the larger universals if no spacers ,the u-joint will bind if raised to far. David
