I may as well jump in here. I have a new leftover 2002 Classic, 496HO's, silent choice etc. Never sold full warranty. [email protected] if interested. I'll cut a good deal on an outright buy.

You know, its kind of amazing. In this thread I see that
04 & 05 EX's, with all the nice new dashes & controls,
great interiors & low hrs are selliing for 125-135k. Yet
I've been looking at used 97 & 98 35's and all these
guys are asking 95-110k !!!! I've called a few and they
wont budge on the price! Some of these boats have
been for sale for close to a year. Is it because these people
are so upside down in their loans? Seems to me if you really
want to sell something, you have to be realistic.
This guy is asking 99k for this boat,no trailer, and
wont budge on his price. Just seems way to high,or
is it me? Its a 97 with 160hrs,500's.

Well, it's both
a matter of the higher interest rates of prior times leaving them with higher balances...

and the depreciation on them slowing to a crawl...

The price is good but new boat financing is usually a couple points less than used financing...in other words a new '06 for 160k may have the same payments..

Banks always win most every offshore battle.

Berns29: what kind of rates are you getting? Lowest I found was 6.5% new 05 15 yr fixed.

How does deprication slow to crawl when you can buy a
05 ex with 10hrs on it for 36k more? That 97 is 8 years old.
You have to be nuts to pay almost a 100k for a 8 year old
35,when you can buy a 05 for 136K. Also something is only
worth what someone is willing to pay. All these used 8 year
old boats have been on the market forever at those prices
I think all these guys are basing their prices on what the big
dealers like Lake Cumberland and Raymonds are trying to sell
them for,but those prices are unrealistic. Those same boats
at the dealers have been for sale forever and a day.

The reason some won't budge is they CAN'T budge...that's what they owe.
