The observation on depreciation was a relative one. You know what I meant. The biggest hit on these things is the first 3 years (give or take one), didn't know that?
Also, some can't step to that next $ level so they are shopping in that 85-100K market and sellers (the market) knows it. Those buyers are exactly why that price market exists.

I've been looking at used 97 & 98 35's and all these
guys are asking 95-110k !!!! I've called a few and they
wont budge on the price! Some of these boats have
been for sale for close to a year. Is it because these people
are so upside down in their loans? Seems to me if you really
want to sell something, you have to be realistic.
This guy is asking 99k for this boat,no trailer, and
wont budge on his price. Just seems way to high,or
is it me? Its a 97 with 160hrs,500's.

When the X's came out it killed the resale. The price of our boats dropped $25,000. I'd love to step into a new 42' X but lost way too much on my 35 to be able to do it. It's a good thing I love the boat because I'm going to have it a long time!!!

trashed the resale on the 3-5 year olds 35's, but that
doesnt change the fact that IT DOES lessens the value of
the older 35's. Like I said before, I've seen guys with
97 35's with 502's in them asking 115k. Needless to say
those 100-115k 8 year old 35s have been on the market
forever. Look at how long it took too old to sell the one he
had. That boat was loaded,500's,myco trailer,7k stereo
extension boxes, race fairing and MINT condition !That
boat went cheaper than the asking price and was for sale
for a LONGGGGGG time.
