It was nice meeting you also, and Jayboat (even though he's pretty sneaky with that lens). Looking forward to a great summer and meeting other OSO members

Default Overdue Update from Bob

Overdue Update !! :

Sorry everyone but I have been a bit overwhelmed lately. Up until mid April the accounting firms were unavailable to talk to us, then they needed some time off after tax season, then the new boat was delivered, then Ft Myers Poker Run, then drive a car up north, then dealing with the Nate / Jennifur thing and now you have my attention once again. !! I’m tired just reading and thinking about all of that plus another exciting project I am taking on this month!

Anyway, here is where we are at with Ft. Myers Offshore, Non Profit LLC: Our lawyer is Daniel Sasso, Cape Coral. Our accounting firm is Swope, Lamberson & Charboneau, PA. Thank you Rosa Scola CPA, MA. They will soon get together and move forward with the incorporation etc. The mechanics have all been petty well figured out. I expect to meet with both of them when back in Florida next week.

If you are willing to serve as an officer or director, please contact me. The initial board will be appointed, then in two years, I would like to see elections every year or so. I have stated that after 2 years I would like to step aside and take on a lesser role. I would like to see all of the various regions represented. Hopefully we will have board members from Marco, Naples, Ft. Myers Beach/ Bonita, Cape Coral / Ft. Myers, and Port Charlotte/Punta Gorda.
I would like to see the board meet every few months (less in summer) to discuss the direction of the Club, events, etc. Member and sponsor input will be very welcome and important, as we move forward.

We have had a great initial response from people interested in signing up as member, charter member and corporate sponsors. It is my intention to continue that membership drive once we are incorporated and a bank account is open to accept membership fees etc. As stated earlier I will continue to front end the initial costs to get things going and get reimbursed at a later date.

I am hopeful that we should have an official ”Club” within the next month.

Thank you all for your patience. We will get there and I am as excited about the prospects for Ft. Myers Offshore as I ever was !

I believe I've already been volunteered. Happy to serve in any role necessary.

The support for Ft. Myers Offshore continues to amaze me. Great. I am away for a day to open up the summer home ( yes, summer is coming !! ) but will check back in tomorrow afternoon / evening. I intentionally do not have internet up there. That is where I escape to - but I'll be back.
