Some of these pics were taken in May / 08, the weekend of the Canoe Races when it is abnormally crowded. It will be busy but not that busy on April 4th.
The aerial pic was from many years ago and the while the land shape is the same today, the pine trees are mostly gone. It is an easy walk from the Intracoastal to the Gulf beach. Follow the shoreline around to avoid getting burrs stuck in your feet.

Also for the benefit of SW Florida resident FMO members even tho we do not have any summertime activities planned, if someone wants to step up and organize getting the local offshores together they should feel free to do so. Board members Hans H, John W. and Tom C. are are all local to the area and I am sure would be happy to work with anyone wanting to plan a fun run. I will be in Canada and Dan D. in Chicago for the summer months but that does not mean all FMO activities need to come to a halt. If we can assist, we will be happy to do so.

Also got an e mail from FMO member Nick Amelio ( Ft. Myers). He will be attending with 6 aboard his 43 Nor Tech cat. This will be Nick's first run with FMO. Nice guy. Met him at FPC run last weekend.
