Yea...but some builders call their 30'ers....35'ers whan they really aren't. :D |
Re: 30 Vice
I am heading down there with Rob from The Perf. Group here in Dallas. He said a good comparison to the Vice is the Fountain 35X... in both length and interior cockpit/cabin space. If that is the case and the Cig runs mid 80s with 496s, it is outperforming the 35X.... I would rather have the Vice than the 35X but I am leaning towards an 03 or 04 Top Gun.... but you never know how the Vice will appeal to me in person.... :D I also saw the one at the Miami show and mistakenly spent too much time drooling over the big boats Ciggy had there and just glanced at the Vice... I am going to spend alot of time checking her out and will report back.... :D
Hydro... just buy my beak boat and I will take you for a ride on the Vice.... :D I agree it is a steep price for the Vice .... 200K will get you a lot of boat ... new or used... we will see! |
Re: 30 Vice
PS... I told Rob I wanted the Vice with 850s and #6s for 200K.... :evilb:
|
Re: 30 Vice
that 30 vice is a big step up from your 29 beaker..... :D :D a good 4 or 5 feet.... :evilb:
|
Re: 30 Vice
Still seems WAY overpriced to me for even a true 30' boat. I mean come on, a quarter million for a 30 footer?? To me that's insane.

Yeah... 1 foot and 100K  LOL... I still have 100% more cabin space than that 40 mile per hour Sphincter of yours :evilb: :D |

Youre right but you should be able to squeeze 100 MPH out the 525s on the boat with little trouble... I am a little concerned about what the resale market will be. I see you can pick up an 02 Mystique for about 125-140k.... |

Was the key for the Port motor an option on that model?... :D :D |

Re: 30 Vice
Man you can get a hell of a nice twin step gun with decent power for less than 200K or a tiger for that matter ..

Yeah... I am interested in it but I hear ya... I figure if I have a good year this summer, I will be in the range for an 04 TG... with all the cool new stuff they offer.... I am always open for something new though... I am real curious how that 30 will run in the rougher stuff... then compare ti to a TG.... |
Re: 30 Vice
a 35 X and a 30 vice have nothing in common. the X is $40k less and worst case still 2 foot longer. i'm a big cig fan but there shooting themselves in the foot. lemme see a 32 fever against a 30 vice same power same water...hmmmmmmmmm the 35 X would obviously handle better (or atleast in my opinion) but only 1 way to find out.
|
Re: 30 Vice
So X = Beak????
|
Re: 30 Vice
There won't be any comparison in the rough stuff between a 30' Vice and a 38 Top Gun.
And as others have stated, that's a lot of money for a 30 ft. boat. I have a feeling you would take a very big hit on resale. Just my two cents. |

Re: 30 Vice
I tend to agree a 30' vice with 525's (really a 34' boat)...should go for something like $180K.
A 28' Pantera (really a 32' boat) with 525's is $160's |

A 28' Pantera (really a 32' boat) with 525's is $160's There all pricey ..but what im saying is that the used market is flooded with nice boats and will be more so with gas prices. New is nice but give me a used 38 and 50K left over VS a new 30 any day.. New stuff breaks too and depreciation on boats is DEEP. And if you have bottomless pockets , why even look at a 30' v Just my 7.2 cents :D :D |
Re: 30 Vice
I saw that vice at the Cleveland show, and was not impressed for the price.
|
Re: 30 Vice
How is a 30 Vice - 34 feet long?????
|
Re: 30 Vice
Saw the Vice at the Detroit show - the cockpit seemed very small. And there are a hell of a lot of other boats I'd buy for $200K+! That is insane, I have a feeling Cig isn't going to be burning up the assembly lines building Vices....
|
Re: 30 Vice
I guess if you add a bolt on swim platform to the Vice, it's about 32' long when compared to other comprable v-bottoms with molded on decks included in their LOA. Not sure where you are getting the other 2' though. I guess the same could be said for the 28 Pantera... add the swim deck and you have a 30 footer.... I guess??
BUT, it's still a 30' boat for a LOT of money. |

A 28' Pantera (really a 32' boat) with 525's is $160's Don't let your wife ever measure your johnson, I'm sure she'd be dissappointed after hearing "it's really a 10" johnson" |
Re: 30 Vice
Powerboat did a little bit on the boat in the recent issue..
What craks me up is that they call this an entry level boat... $200k... Is it really a 1st performance boat?? Or am I that poor??? :( So I guess the average would be $400k... I knew the fountain debate would come into this... I'd put the 30 Cig up against a 35 Fountain any day.. Let's not compare the Vice to the 35 X... That's not quite right. Gotta compare to a Lightning (two step boat) THen performance and price are getting closer. Wasn't the price thing the reason Cig didn't build many 30s before??? $200k- Entry level... God damm I'm poor... Oh, very nice boat. I'd love to have one. |
Re: 30 Vice
Hey Bill, you are the proud new owner of a 34' boat... that I'm sure you didn't pay anywhere near $200,000+ for... but is it really a 34' boat?? LOL!!! Or did you buy a 32' boat that is really a 34' boat?
Thanks for the exhaust by the way... looks nice actually... better than I thought they would... just need to get some bolts now. |
Re: 30 Vice
Thats a lot of money for a 30 footer.

Re: 30 Vice
i love cigarettes, but as far as buyign a new boat goes, u'd be crazy to pay the extra money, because if u keep the boat for 10 years look at a 95 cig vs. a 95 fountain and u will see u will never get the money u spent back. buying a used cigarette is a far greater deal because ur letting the guy before u loose all the money, and it doesnt cost much more than a fountain, but ur gettin way more boat.
