Evan, Talk with Tres Martin and both of you need to attend his school. This can help the insurance and he may be able to point you to the way of some of the insurance programs that are working with him on his school. This is why he started the school. To help the performance boater keep insurance rates down. Hope this helps. Dave Warden

CALL PMA I was 22 years old and still in college when I bought my 33 Powerplay. Buzz took care of me and it was quite simple. It was my first boat, but I had grown up on boats and had a ton of experience behind the wheel.

Call 1-888 FAST INS.

"Not tryin' to be an azz.. Just wondering why you would really be named on the insurance policy for that boat. I would expect that Dad would be in the left bolster if you were behind the wheel..."

Good call Tim
Its tough...I pay $3450 a year on my car insurance. I'm 22, BMW 323ci, no, accidents, 2 speeding tickets in the last 3 years...you would think I have a f*cking ferrarri with insurance that high. It makes me sick when I see peoples 42 cig with blower motors with insurances half as low as my car insurance, but thats what I get for buying what I buy.

If you and your father really like that particular boat, look at one without the 575 SCI's, perhaps 500's or 496's. I would then get a quote with your father as primary driver and you as secondary. The 575's and your age are definitely a red flag... Good luck

Has anyone ever looked to see if the majority of boat accidents are to boaters new to the sport, or new to the vessel. I'll bet you it's very high!! This is why if your not a newbie to perf. boating and you have no claims or points and you've had a couple of years running the boat (perf.)V or cat. You shouldn't be lookin at premiums like you were day 1 with the boat. Let the begginers pay to walk..Weve done are share of crawling......
