niice...any numbers to post?

Re: Kaama whats the word?
They are 565cid, HP950 Holley carbs, 9.4 cr, hyd roller cams, AFR cnc ported heads, Dart single plane intakes. They idle at about 750-800rpm in neutral, make peak torque at 4400rpm, and make peak HP up to 5600rpm. They have a very broad, flat torque curve, and very impressive throttle response. Dave Wessledyke (WESCO) assembled, and dyno tuned the engines, JimV ported the exhaust ports of the already CNC'd ported heads, and I wanted a cam that would idle as smooth as it could, and still make power up to 5600-5800rpm----a request that you almost never hear of---and not an easy task! My personal requirements for these cams were given to "rmbuilder" (Bob), and he was just the man for the job. The engines were built for smooth idling charactoristics for long idling periods, drivabilty, longevity, endurance, torque, and throttle response. I am very happy with the results from all involved. The thought of my boat being in the water shortly is almost unbelievable! :)

You guys are too funny---heck, I'd probably be just as curious. When I began this project almost two years ago I told others back then that I was reluctant to post any dyno numbers this time around. I have mentioned other dyno numbers from previous engine combos that I have done, and now I want to save some info for myself.
Some of the other components I forgot to list previously are the MSD billet distributors with their new marine style cap, Scott plug wires, MSD crank trigger system, Crane Hi-6M ignition boxes w/PS-92 coils. The fuel pump is an Edlebrock 6-valve pump, and requires a fuel pressure regulator. Here's a picture of the new bracket that the ingition boxes, coils, wiring plugs, and breaker switch go. I threw away the stock Merc bracket, and had these made up to use instead... |
