I thought that originally, but as it went on I started doubting myself. Thanks!

rv, we tried the Gibsons Harden, Edie, Imco, Hydo Power, Rex, and Zoomer. We tried ONLY Clamp-On or Transom mount. We also wanted full time only with no moving parts like the Northstar from Livorsi.

BTW we ran the Northstars on a big inch blower motor for a customer and they work well but they are HUGE and not cheap. Gattling also has a good product in that class but it's also huge.

The motors we used are n/a 454's stroked and bored to 496, roller cam 634 lift @ 284, 10.4:1, Merlin Rectangular port, Lightning Headers. The basic performance is 675hp at 5300 open pipes. We ran with all of the above muffs and found the GGB's to be the ONLY ones that didn't give any HP loss.

I don't want to piss in anyones Cherrios' but one of those caused a 750 rpm loss!!!

The GGB's are by far the way to go.

kcgbjc, Yes I was talking props, sorry.

We've had nothing but positive results from the GGB's we've installed on customers boats. I'm glad to hear others are finding the same thing!

Lofty,
How did the Zoomers work out? They seemed to do really well in the Hotboat test. They also look really nice. What is the price of the GGB's? Do you have a picture of the ones for HP500's? I have a set of Gibsons on my boat now...it slowed down about 5mph!!!

5 mph?!?!? OUCH!!!

The Zoomers are great but a bit $$. The new GGB's you're talking about aren't yet available. I'll post up info as soon as they have them.

I have pricing for OSO members but I can't post it here.... Call or email and I'll shoot you prices.
