There's a shop in town that has a 496 mag in there showroom with 40 hours for around 4500.00. That would be a smokin deal, he's a Powerquest dealer, I cant vouch for him personally but I saw the motor and it looked new sitting on the engine stand. Let me know and I can get you his phone number, a couple hundred for shipping and you'd have a nice set up. I believe all the closed cooling stuff was there, I can't remember if it had any accessories though.

Re: motor bad again. Help!
I too am boating on a budget, 86 320 force baja, I am a mechanic and I bought my boat with no power, I was going to go all out and crazzy hp but I wanted reliability, did not want to work on the boat every weekend so I took a loan out and bought set of 8.1 HOs (496 HO ) I boat in tahoe and sea leval and didnt want to tune for every lake, verry reliable turn key engines. the BW 1017s didnt last long, moved engines forward 1 in. and went with Huber 1018s 925hp trannys, and now am dealing with trs issues. BBB, When you're ready to dump your TRS let me know. I've got Konrads that will bolt on and never break!
I also have a few take-off TRS's from conversions.

Boating, if you can get the engine out and strip the accessories off, Lenny at Millenyum Marine in Harrison Township can fix it cheaper than anything suggested yet. He rebuilt my engines and is very fair about pricing.
