I know this is an ancient thread but I have a 1977 Maxim 31 (yes Maxim not Maxum). I recently purchased it in Florida. It originally had twin 454's in it then switched to twin outboards on a bracket. Strange looking boat. Looks like a go fast (which it does) but it has a full cabin without any windows just 2 overhead hatches, one solid one transparent. I am putting it up on eBay for sale (3/2014). Has no power. Needs floor and needs stringer work. Overall its rough shape but it is very unique.

Thanks Brownie!
Gotta appreciate the people that have been there and know what they are talking about!
Any idea what the performance of this hull is like? Speed, handling, sea keeping, etc.?

I remember (as a kid) going to the NYC boat show with pops to do some boat shopping in , it must have been 1970 , and the Apollo 31 was being debuted there . Big and a little chunky , not as smooth and sexy as the larger Magnums etc and nowhere near as stunning as the Cary 50 on display but still not bad . I'm pretty sure it was a straight inboard boat that was being shown .
In all those years since I might have seen but one for sale . .
