Welcome to our world.....
A 242 Formula has a rather roomy cabin. Spent six weeks on one, with my ex wife, back in 94 touring Florida and slept every night on the boat.
Not the fastest 24 footer out there, but few can match it if the water kicks up. Depending on engine package expect top speeds in the 60's, maybe 70.
I had an 85' with twin small blocks. Loved the boat. You could fine a nice one in your price range and Formula builds an extremely high quality boat. Just my two cents, from experience.

22,
I would suggest going to boattraderonline.com. Search by entering high performance the length and amount you want to spend on your new boat. This will produce almost every kind of boat manufacturer out there. It will give you a good idea of what is available. Pics and all! Good luck!
Happy boat hunting

Maybe not as roomy as you thought.

Seriously though , a friend has a 1991 242 LS . Real nice boat and great in the slop. Decent cabin for a small sized go fast boat. His will do 62 with a 502 mag. Again , not the fastest out there but fantastic quality and great resale.
