Cat vs. V

In the 30' range how much of a difference in ride. Normal water, and rough water. 30 Motion,30 Spectre, 30 AMT, all with outboards. Deep V would be any Mfg, Baja,Pantara, with Twin stern drives.

I would think if your boating in 3+ foot waves you would most likely like the ride of the V. Also the cabin room. I had way to much fun in my cat but I always envied V's with the cabin space. The cat handled like a sports car when passengers would allow.

tantrum has a 30 AMT. never been in it but i know it flies. if you want cabin go with a v like fasterdamitt said. for speed go with the cat.

I would much rather be in a V in 3' or bigger water.

how well would a cat turn in 4-6 steep high frequency lake erie waves?

like when your perpendicular to them and get cought in the trough

In my 26' American Offshore, it would be a slow wet turn. In two footers it would jam!

I had a 30 Eliminator Daytona sold it and bought a 30 Cig. boath boats have been great. But the difference in speed is driving me to go back to a cat. I wen't from doing 130+ to 80+. I enjoy every ride on the Cig. it's just not the same.

Well aware of the difference's in the cabin space and speed. Just curious if you would prefer doing 80 in a CAT or V moderate to rough water.

I own a 358 Sonic now and believe me that when the water kicks up it's no fun banging around at 50 to 60 MPH on a normal afternoon on Lake St. Clair.

The reason I would down size is because I trailer my boat and the 358 is getting just too large for the wife to help out. We can handle a 30 footer.

I still like going fast but, I don't want to sacrafice too much speed.
