Get back to me...

*Rough water domination. We've notched more race wins than the world's largest 100 boat builders combined.

*Smooth water domination. We've broken our own world V-bottom speed record seven times and we currently own every twin-engine V-bottom world record.

V-Bottom World Record
Fountain Powerboats builds the fastest boats in the world. Period. Our absolute stranglehold lock on the V-bottom World Speed Record proves the point. Our most recent assault was a phenomenal 171.883 mph clocking by our 42' Lightning. Fountain's performance superiority is so dominant, the competition has given up even trying to keep pace. All rivals can talk about is tired, worn-out records from the '60s and '70s. :D

You also have to wonder about a boat builder that has a

"38 T/G w/extended Cover girl Cabin" :evilb:

[QUOTE=T2x]Yes I remember it well.....

Brownie was wearing a beautiful faux mink collared evening ensemble...and was squiring Mister Rickey into the gala party at Saugatuck, Michigan.......

What a dashing couple they made....... Brownie talking about Mister Rickey's beautiful eyes...... Mister Rickey talking about Mister Rickey's beautiful eyes.........

Hey! Is that Gay-bashing?

Not very acceptable these days.

Sort of like Rich! :D :D

You Fountain guys kill me .I cant stop laughing !Too funny! Just remember, We didnt start it.By the way,I owned a 40 Fountain with 700 horse Zuls.I loved that boat but decided it was time to get a Cig. Also,at the Fort Lauderdale boat show in 03,at the Cig booth,Reggie came by and could not take his eyes off the Gladiator.Skip was showing him the new Stealth 46 and Reggie was not interested.He was more into that Gladiator. Anyhow,Fountain or Cigarette,either way, you cant go wrong.

Another thing: I don't know how this got to be a Cig bashing thread, but I'm gonna say this once more. Ferrari, Rolex, Harley, Cigarette, Rolls, etc..... There is only one of each of them. The honor is not of their own doings. You can try as hard as you wish, but you will never bump them out of their place. Example: Suzuki GSXR vs. Harley Soft Tail. 171 mph vs 116 (ring a bell?) Ever visualize General Patton on a GSXR? I don't think so, Tim!

Re: Cig hires Ben Robertson

This is almost as classic as Ford vs. Chevy, Mercury vs. OMC etc. I will say this, when a particular style of boat is recognized by one name (A Cigarette Boat, much like when someone asks for a Coke, when they're just referring to a soda) that speaks volumes. I was really partial to Ben's following quote;

“This is a big move for me!” said Robertson, “Reggie and I have known each other for 35 years, but I was ready for a change. It’s exciting to be leaving an industry leader and going to an industry giant.”

No BS - Straight from the man himself! :D

Cigarette had Several race boats before Virgin. The boat that CB won the first F2 SBI worlds with that had Havoline on it. Then Philly won the champions ship with. Miccosukee found alot of sucess with the same boat the following year. Tres and Todd ran very well with th TG for a season and a half especially in rough water. Then they got there Gladiator and did very well with it. That particular gladiator has pitched quite a few people as well as many other gladiators from what I hear.

Re: Cig hires Ben Robertson

Remember... Cig has won more offshore races... The key here is" offshore" not "along the shore" I'm not knocking it but it is a lot different than it was ,this modern style of racing shouldn't be compared to races of the past...

Cigarette hant been knocked out yet and likely will never be knocked out. Does Fountain build a good hull? You bet.Does their rigging and quality match Cigarette? No way.You cant blame Fountain,they build a great production boat .But that is what it is,a production boat. I like Fountains and admire them for what they are,a fast, excellent quality,great looking performance boat.
