Re: Glasstream 273 SCX
Do you know what the performance numbers are with twin 225 opti's? I am looking to possibly pick up at 2002-2004 used. Until the little guy's day care bill of 1k a month ends in another 2 years, then I can trade up to a new one. Thanks...

I heard 225 Optis should run w/ 24 4B bravos 66-67. With a paid of labbed 3 blades you can get 70 but you will hurt the mid range. If you take the time to dial it in you can get more. I just put a pair Mercury Revolutions 4 blades on my 32 today and I increased the top end by 4mph and the mid range by 2mph. I can still get another 300RPM by labbing them.
There is and 04 in NY for sale on boattraderonline.com. Really good price.

Re: Glasstream 273 SCX
I am going to call them tomorrow morning, I have to go down that way to check on my brothers Formula after all this rain we got. Thanks for the link I already saw that boat, the problem is its going to be out of my towing range. I want to say under about 7k on the trailer. The one thing that still really intrests me are the performance numbers people have posted from 66 to 81. Is there really that much a difference between the 225's and the 250's?

The triple axle with 6 brakes (All Wheels) aluminium trailer for the 32 from the Glasstream factory was only $4K.
If you live near Brick or in Jersey having the dealer is great for warranty work on boat equipment and options. Otherwise from the factorybig savings.
They do protect their dealers and their regions. I really respect them for that.

Re: Glasstream 273 SCX
I went down and looked at the boat, I think its more impressive in person. I'm not sure if I like/trust the dealership though. I was asking about the weight on the trailer because I need to stay under 7k and they told me you don't count the trailer into the weight. With statements like that I kinda feel like I should shop around. I think I might just contact Glasstream to get my questions answered on Monday.

Ask for Leslie and she will get you scheduled with Kruise or AL. As Chuck said above they do protect their dealers. Tell them I said to call.

A rule of thumb with most stepped bottom boats is 1 mph per 11-12 horse power. So the difference between 225 and 250 is about 4mph. If you are considering new again, I recommend the 250 4 stroke Verados. If you prop them right, they will run in the mid to upper 70’s. You also get two year warranties with an option for another 5 years. I like that kind of protection.
