I am looking to use it as an all around boat with family, fishing and some performance. Thanks...
Glastream boats are built here in my home town of Panama City Beach, Fl. A.L. Kirkland has been involved in boat building and offshore racing for a long time. He won national and world championships with his own designed and built B-class race boat "Turn of the Century" in the late 80's early 90's. Oddly enough when my family was racing B-class in those days, my uncle teamed with them and navigated and throttled for a season as well. A.L. is a nice guy, and builds a great "looking" and performing boats. The best advice I can give you is that he has a somewhat colorful history and past here in the pahandle of FL. There are NO dealers here if that tells you anything, and you VERY FEW of his boats on our home waters. I hate to bash on a boat thats built where I live with a person that I used to know, but I call em like I see em. I have boarded some of his new designs and I must say they look great, and the fit and finish "seems" better than it used to be. Before it was called Gulfstream, it was called Glastream, and in those days they were, well...ahem...junk.
Like I mentioned before. They "look" great, and perform great, but it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks. They carry a low re-sale value, and have very limited appeal here in PC. Put it like this. We have refused to take several on a trade at the dealership where I work. One being the zebra colored 32 with twin 275's. I hope this helps a little guys. Like I said, Im not trying to bash anything Im just trying to give you the un-biased honest to God truth. Good luck with whatever you choose! To prove I know my chit man, here is a vid of the guys running in 1990. Enjoy.
