Yep, airport under 4', streets 1 to 2 feet.
It's going down, though.

See it live:

This morning you could clearly see people knee deep, now it seems to have drained.

CNN reports Marathon under 4' of water. For some reason they are concentrating on Naples and are mostly silent on KW.

Communications must be a problem in the keys cause their reporter is still using a video phone.

A few film snippets did show the reporter on Duval and some people playing in the water in the background.

From the Sloppy Joes website..===>Due to Hurricane Wilma Sloppy Joe's is closed. We will reopen on Tuesday once the storm has cleared. Make sure to join us Thursday for our Annual Toga Party!

Check out this live caaam on Duval after Wilma

And to top it off the FAA's just placed an indefinite TFR on the Key's--(that's a temporary flight restriction)--which means no one can fly to or from Key West. Fantasy Fest is already late. Woe is me--I operate a charter service to the Key's and Have a hundred people scheduled to go to Fantasy Fest. I guess I'm outta business for a while.

My boss lives in Ft. Lauderdale. Not sure which marina it is but he said that one of the marinas near Haulover had the racks blown over.

I heard the mayor of Key West on the news say it would take them 3 weeks to get back up and going good. And that looks to be the same week as the Worlds and my wedding. I don't have a back up plan for the wedding, does SBI and APBA have a back up plan for the races?

If I remember right they have been evacuated just before for the races ?

That is what Gordo said. Oh, I hope everything remains the same and the races go as planned. I hope all of the OSO family down there are safe too.

Doesn't sound good. It sounds like the sunset dock where lots of us have watched the races from is gone.

Everyone think positive!!!!

Re: Florida Key's under water ?????

wow, reading those articles is so sad, I did not realize it was that bad, the national news has not said much about KW. This is a double or triple whammy for them. The damage from the water, the lack of revenue from Fantasy Fest and who knows about race week. Last year several business owners told us that race week was bigger $$ for them than fantasy fest, that the boaters spent more money. I feel bad about the possibility of no vacation, but it pales in comparison to what those poor folks are going through.

Smathers Beach is where Outlawcowgirl has plans to to married..

I feel her pain...our wedding is (was) scheduled for the Pier at the Wyndham Reach (near the southernmost point) 2 weeks from tomorrow. Not sure yet if it's still gonna happen, but it isn't looking good.

Then again, we didn't lose anything, so I'm not complaining - good luck to everyone down there trying to clean up.
