Like most threads, this will make sense if you ignore the posts by Thrill.

Ok Steve. Try this.

Hey Nick...

It used to be like a virtual yacht club. When I needed a part, OSO was there. When I needed a laugh, OSO was there. When I was looking for a different gig... strangers and friends alike offered me options. When my system crashed... a member met me in a parking lot with a hard drive.
When my boat had trouble and it was my busy season at work, a member fixed it for me. And launched it for me to make sure it was ok. When my niece donated a kidney to my sister... three hundred people prayed for my family. When my boat was looking like it was parked... Bill offered me a seat at the Fountain SBI. When members have needed something... I have tried to be there too.

It used to all just kind of work out somehow. Maybe the truly friendly evolved off site. I know that I have met many people that I keep in touch with in my area in real life and others via email.

Not sure if the old members changed or the site did. But I still feel like being in touch with some people... like you... for example.

We'll hook up next time, or maybe at the boat show when the water is too hard to run
This is how it used to be.

This on the other hand is called an agenda, which is supposed to be a violation of TOS.

Enforcement of the TOS would yield a better quality experience, and therefore forum.

This forum goes as the management allows.

I did. You wrote, "I served during Vietnam." What you served was left to the imagination.

So, did you serve doughnuts and coffee at Denny's? Time in prison? A tennis ball? Process for lawyers? As the aide de camp for a dignitary?

I've been saying the same thing for a long time. OSO reminds me of a favorite dockside bar. We gather as boaters, maybe on a poker run stop, for the simple reason that we are all boaters, but there's so much more than that. We share a common bond, in the way we go about the day, BS about our boats and a great day on the water, but there's a tremendous amount of "other" things that we have in common. Undoubtedly, while sitting on the dockside bar, someone will say "did you hear about so and so" or "you won't believe this sht" or "I heard a great joke..." We're friends, family, barmates, coworkers, and fellow boaters all at the same time.
OK, non gay group hug time I see
