I would buy 5x 15 gal jugs and have them full of diesel in the bed of your truck just in case.

Be sure to leave them in the back of the truck at the motel. I'm sure they will still be there in the morning.

Only problem with this post is the spelling of diesel! I live in Jupiter(N. Palm Beach County) and was in Lauderdale yesterday and you could buy anything you needed. There was never a fuel shortage but a electric shortage to run the pumps. Everything is cool here and by the 15th (when the coolest Poker Run in the USA happens) it will be business as usual!

no diesel problems, except that the price varies by $0.40 per exit. I recomend 191 for having the best diesel prices as of sunday. Ft lauderdale has no fuel shortage, on electriciy shortage as said before. But if you have a fuel can or can somhow squeeze between the cars waiting for gas, you can go right up to most diesel pumps cuz theres no wait for them. The gas lines were shrinking though also, and by boat show time should be gone.
