Re: New 30 Skater in Powerboat
dont get me wrong, that boat is absolutely DEAD GORGEOUS. I mean when ya look at like a 30 spectre 300x's, fully rigged, trailer etc...$1teens, 30 AMT 6.0 Vortec's, IMCO Extreme's loaded up high $100k area (which still seems a little steep) in comparison to a new 32 Spectre 575's loaded up trailer etc...$230's Granted none of these will run the kinda MPH the 30 Skater does with those monster motors but just pricey as hell. I mean even a new 32 skater with like 525's and arnesons gotta be more reasonably priced then that 30 no ?

IMO power that with arnesonsand 496's or 525 price it aggressively and it will sell quicker than they can build it.

Earlier in this year, not now, you could have purchased a 32' Standard deck Skater (quarter canopy) with the same power for about the same cost as a 30' flat deck.
With the new pricing increase last month, the 32' cost a bit more now vs the flat deck 30'. The drive train is a mute cost as either boat needs a drive train. Rigging is the same and so is the trailer.
PROROC just finished a new 32' Skater with 496's that ran 105 on the bump box first day in the water with fuel and people. Yes this is a much less expensive package as the engines are less than one of the Sterling's alone.
The $460K was a price that was put there for the Mag. It did not represent what I sold the boat for.

[QUOTE=Harper220] I think Skater is a bit too proud of their boat.

When skater runs out of orders their prices might drop. Too proud is a relative term. Ferrari's are an expensive way to get to the store too. NK

Not really. The mag has not hit the West coast yet so he, like I do not know what is written.
As you know we don't know what to expect. I'm having a copy over nighted to him. I'll tell him of this thread and let him take it from there.
You ever get that video on a CD?
