Bravo I upgrade question
I am going to soon be going thru and replacing the gears and bearings in my Bravo I (1988 drive that has never been worked on as far as I can find out) drive and was wondering if I can replace the gears with the new version Bravo XR gears with out any machining of my old drive? Or is there any difference in the replacement Bravo I drive and the new XR drive grears?
The reason for the rebuild is i am adding more horsepower.
I am just trying to stay away from the expence of a new drive such as a max machine worx drive.
Thanks in advance for you help!

Re: Bravo I upgrade question
The lower case was re-designed after 1988. Sometime around '91. Better hydrodynamics and also a system to circulate the gearlube. If you are over 70 m.p.h. you may benefit from the newer syle lower case.

There have been two upgrades to the gear sets since your drive was manufactured. A rebuild will automatically fix this situation.
