I think that wave is offshore at the "Hump" off California. Top of an underwater mountain causes those and surf dudes take an overnight charter to get out there.
On the boat....... I vote for the 42 Tiger as well. That said, when running north and south and inland and offshore, even I have to take a moment to focus on which side the red and green things are supposed to be on. Florida is fun, cause you have to look for the little yellow tag on the buoy to see if it is an intersecting channel buoy or a "real" one.

having spent some time running across the columbia river bar(graveyard of the pacific) in real 6 - 8 footers, i have to agree with mr. cozzi that there are BIG holes between wave fronts; i can guaran-freaking-tee that no one(not Don A.,not Dick B. not Doc Macgoon, rest their souls) is gonna be blithely blasting over or through this stuff at 80 mph.
