Another -2 shorty thread....
With all this talk of pricing these units it has got me thinking again that it might not be a bad idea to investigate using one if I think I have a good candidate boat situation.....
Boat runs 71 MPH best on GPS ....light fuel and just me.
I have a fairy heavy 27 ZX twin step....
A 500 EFI
The drive 8 inches below the keel.....
8 inches sound really deep to me here, I have been told the step hull boats do not require as much leverage for the bow, due to the fact that they ride flat, is this right? Help me out here , and if it is a good candidate what is really to be gained? in MPH terms....
What do you all think?
Thanks
Bryan

My 272 baja is also 8" below keel,I think its the norm in these 27 ft boats. I also want to go to a 2" shortie but am concerned about lack of bow lift,Smitty
